Locum RVN Jobs

Historically

In the last 10 years Locum Vet Nurse jobs have become better paid. They are more frequent in their regularity and now form an essential part of the UK Veterinary profession. It is an excellent option for vet nurses who are looking for diversity in their work. Traditionally it was used as a stop gap between permanent positions. RVN’s would locum for a few weeks while they were waiting for their new permanent veterinary job to start.  This would often be required over the summer seasons for holiday cover.

2021

These days locum veterinary nurses are often working as ‘Professional Locums’.  There are multiple reasons for this. Firstly as a long term solution to allow them greater work flexibility. Secondly. you earn higher wages. Thirdly it provides you with the opportunity to see practice from multiple viewpoints. Particularly as individual practices will often be run differently. We are fortunate as the UK’s leading veterinary recruitment agency to work alongside all of the corporate groups. We are the preferred supplier to all the charities and have always worked closely with independents and referral hospitals.

The main question we get asked is about getting paid. Whether to use an umbrella company, or work on the practice payroll.  We also get questions about accommodation, working practices and salary guides. We are here to guide and advise you on the best route to take depending on your specifics. We cover the UK as a whole so you will be speaking to an experienced consultant who has been working in your geographical area for several years and will know the practices well. Working as a Locum RVN – the world is your oyster! We look forward to hearing from you.
