Veterinary Surgeon – Staffordshire

We are working with a super friendly, independent practice near Ball Haye Green who are looking for a vet to join the team.

About the role:

• Salary up to 80k
• Accommodation available
• Job share/part time hours welcome with a flexible rota
• Full time would be 40 hours over 4 days and ideally every second Saturday morning
• No OOH
• Certificates supported

Since July they have had a locum vet who has been popular with the clients and due to this they put the search for a permanent vet on hold and although an excellent vet he isn’t keen on abdominal surgery. Going forward they would like to find a vet who can work their own surgical cases. If you are confident with bitch spays and have some experience with cystotomies and enterotomies for example, we would love to hear from you.

You would be joining a busy practice that take pride in the service they provide, but they also have a very relaxed working environment. They spend a lot of time at work and find it key to enjoy their workplace and have some fun as well.

Consults run from 9-10 (followed by ops) and 15.30 – 18.00. There may be sole charge (a day a week), so some experience here, together with a friendly manner and good communication skills, will be required.

The team is made up of 2-3 vets, 4 nurses,  2 receptionists and one VCA. In terms of equipment they have the usual toys (idexx bloods, digital X-ray including dental, ultrasound, multi parameter incl capnography, separate dedicated blood pressure, bronchoscopy). There’s no rush to recruit as their locum is happy to stay on until they have a permanent vet so if you have a long notice period – no problem!
