Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to animal patients.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in a variety of animals.
  • Perform routine and complex surgeries with proficiency.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with pet owners.
  • Conduct thorough examinations and provide vaccinations and preventative care.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, radiographs, and ultrasounds.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient medical records.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to veterinary nurses and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay updated with the latest veterinary practices and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid and current license to practice veterinary medicine in the UK.
  • Proven experience as a Veterinary Surgeon in a clinical setting.
  • Strong surgical skills and experience with a wide range of procedures.
  • Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
