This is a Vet GPD registered practice who are working towards their RCVS Practice Standards Scheme and are a nurse training practice. All staff are supported in their professional development and succession within the practice is also a possibility if you’d like to put down roots. They have every toy you could think of (except endoscopy, Alicam is better!) and a fully comprehensive in house lab for inpatients.

THE WORK:

You will have a varied case load, work scope from shoe string budgets to gold standard care
Companion animal (some exotics thrown in for those that way inclined )
15 minute consults
Average of 34 hours/week
No late nights, OOH or bank holidays
1 in 4 Saturday mornings (2.5hr consult only shift)
Protected free time, lots of breaks and free lunches to keep you going during shifts.

THE TEAM:

This team believe in coming to work and being the best that you can be at it, then going home and having a life outside of it. They have a scope of experience in their 3.5 Vet team from recent graduate to Surgery Certificate holder, as well as a sister practice for support. They have a close relationship with our nearby referral hospital.
Weekly Vet meetings are held and they have a designated Vet Slack group to bounce ideas around with the entire Veterinary team when a snap decision needs to be made. Monthly Microsoft Teams journal club has become the beating heart of our approach to EBVM, enjoyed by clinical and non-clinical team members alike.

YOU:

An interest and ability to lead a clinical team is preferred, full leadership training (12 month course) is available if keen. We want you to enjoy working as part of a close team and take the job, but not yourself, seriously. Attitude and work ethic is of the highest importance and the rest will come, impressive swearing will go in your favour.
