Registered Veterinary Nurse – Imaging Nurse – Birmingham (KH-23318)

This is a clinical role within the Imaging team. The successful candidate will work primarily within the shift times of 08:00-18:00 from Monday-Friday. A 5 or 4 day working week will be considered, as will part-time applications.

This creates a unique opportunity for you to be a part of our journey from the very beginning. Situated in Longbridge, Birmingham, it is set to be one of the largest, multi-disciplinary referral hospitals in the UK and will have the capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets per year.

The imaging service works with Ultrasound, CT and MRI modalities, and receives patients from other disciplines to support the work up of their patients. The imaging nurse will work with the Diagnostic Imager and animal care assistant to prepare patients and the imaging suite for imaging assessment and assist with sample procurement, and where required set up to sedate or anaesthetise patients, some of whom will have complex medical conditions or are unstable (with the support of an anaesthetist if available on site). Along with the ACA, the imaging nurse with ensure that the imaging suites and equipment are cleaned and cared for correctly. The imaging nurse will be involved in all the day to day activities of this service supported by animal care assistants and under the direction of the Clinical Team Leader. Imaging nurses will be expected to work to a high standard, adopting an open and supportive team approach and using excellent communication skills.
