New Grad Vets – Llandudno/Chester (KH – 21551)

Our client is looking for a new grads to join a fiercely independent practice owned and run by the vets who work there daily.

They are based in North East Wales/Chester border with 3 branches. As an independent practice, owned and run by clinical vets, they can facilitate family life, caring responsibilities, just wanting time off for “me time” and understand there is more to life than work – however much we love it!

The team consists of 8 vets, 6 RVNs and a number of SVNs.

  • £31,000K per annum
  • Company pension
  • 5 weeks holidays plus bank holidays
  • RCVS, VDS subscriptions to BVA paid.

They are looking for a full time new or recent graduate vet to join our lovely, mature team with a wide range of expertise (Orthopaedics, cardiology, ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, ophthalmology). You will have a dedicated GDP advisor who will help and support  you. They like being able to work up cases with input from the team or external visiting specialists but will refer where necessary and always make the most of a learning opportunity.

The new graduate full time role is 41 hours a week with every other Saturday (8.30am – 1pm) until you feel confident with sole charge consulting. (When then Saturdays drop to 2 in 5).  Your working week will consist of 4 full days (8.30am – 7pm) and a set day off. They run a minimum of 15 minute appointments with scheduled breaks and a set lunch hour.

Our OOH is covered from 6.30pm each evening and 12.30 on Saturdays by VetsNow who are based 5 minutes away.

The rota is plotted 12 months in advance so you can plan your life & make the most of your time off. They share out consultation and operating days so usually full-time vets have a minimum of 2 operating days per week. Initially you would have a full-time surgical vet to stand in with you during your operations to provide mentorship and support.

To apply for the position, please email your CV to khutchinson@glvets.com or call the Kristina on 01291 645 871.
