Locum Vet – Newark-on-Trent

We are looking for a locum vet to join a friendly independent practice near Newark-on-Trent for July and August. This independent practice has full facilities including: in house lab, digital X-Ray, ultrasound, dental X-Ray with laparoscopy in the pipeline for this summer. Two new graduates are taken on every summer to allow the experienced vets to focus on more intellectual and stimulating vetting or certificates, by being able to delegate veterinary services such as vaccinations and neutering ect. Locums will have both consultations and surgical cases each day, unless you specify otherwise.

Self contained property with garden available – pet friendly! The practice is walking distance from the local train station which would make it a perfect practice for locums without transport.

Rate £400 – £475 per day, all payment methods accepted.

For maximum work life balance their patters are: Either 8 or 10 hour shifts, early shift is 9am – 5pm, late shift is 11am – 7pm, full day 9am – 7pm. These shifts are mixed between days of the week and employees for fairness. Consultations run mid-morning, mid-afternoon and early evening, with each vet getting surgery slots every day and a designated catch up slot for calls. Shifts can be moulded to fit the candidates requirements. Occasional sole charge. There is a 1:5 Saturday rota with a day back in lieu if you would prefer.
