Lead Veterinary Surgeon | Peterborough

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, passionate Lead Veterinary Surgeon to lead a friendly team in Peterborough.

You will join a team of 4 Vets and a team of experienced nurses and client care assistants. The practice offers a large on-site parking, spacious reception, staff room area and a lovely garden.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience in small animal practice. You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work to high standards both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop this practice further.

In this role you will be exposed to a variety of cases whilst having access to a digital x-ray system, ultrasound, multiparametric monitor, internal lab and much more. This is a great opportunity to work in a multi-vet practice.

The Role

• Lead Veterinary Surgeon – full-time permanent position
• 4 day week (39 hours) plus 1 in 3 Saturdays
• No on call or nights required in this role

Salary and Benefits

• Package up to £75K dependent on experience
• £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave per annum
• VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid
• 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays per annum

Skills and Experience

• An experienced vet (3 years + UK experience) who is able to perform most standard surgeries and manage complex medical cases
• A good leader who is excited by the opportunity of developing other veterinary surgeons, new graduates and a nursing team
• An individual who is excited by the prospect of a challenge and is keen to use their skills to advance the practice and the team
• An organised individual who is confident in using computer programmes such as Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams.
• An individual who demonstrates initiative
• It would be desirable that the individual has managed teams before
