Embark on a rewarding journey as a Head Nurse in a small animal practice in Malvern, where your daily responsibilities extend beyond general nursing to support and lead a dynamic nursing team. We seek a progressive team player to take on the crucial role of day-to-day management of their nursing team, organising nursing rota and holidays, and providing guidance to students.

Full-time nurses typically enjoy a 4.5-day working week, with flexibility for the right candidate. Weekend commitments are on a 1:6 basis, and Saturday hours are 8.30 am to 1 pm. Inpatients are a rarity, with out-of-hours service outsourced. Remuneration is provided for availability checks and inpatient assessments.

This well-equipped practice includes three consult rooms, an operating theatre, imaging room, dental/grooming room, onsite laboratory, separate kennels for cats, dogs, and small furries, isolation kennel, a well-established large garden, and staff dog kennels. On-site accommodation is available if required. Benefit from top-notch equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, laser, endoscopy, thermocautery, onsite lab, dental facilities, and anaesthetic monitoring machines. Collaborate with a visiting orthopaedic surgeon, offering exposure to complex surgical cases.

This dedicated team, comprises 6 vets (4.5 FTE), 6 nurses (5.5 FTE), 1 ANA, 3 receptionists, 1 PM, and an insurance/ordering nurse. They foster a positive and progressive culture, seeking a candidate with a great team spirit to contribute to the progression of their nursing and veterinary team. Leadership qualities and a proactive attitude are essential. Engage in meaningful community work, supporting a local animal shelter, undertaking fundraising initiatives, and contributing to larger national charities like the Cats Protection.
