Part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse- Maternity Cover
Salary up to £32,000 FTE depending on experience

We are looking for a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to cover maternity leave at a busy mixed practice in Torphins.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, and dependable Registered Veterinary Nurse to provide compassionate and patient centred care. Responsibilities include:

  • Care of inpatients and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Nurse consultations
  • Monitoring of anaesthesia
  • Performing laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
  • Infection control and assisting with training and development of student nurses.

About the rota

This is a part-time maternity cover role working 3 days/19.5 hours per week on a Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. There will be 1 weekend in 4 (additional 7.5 hours for weekend) with no out of hours and no on call.

The practice is fully equipped with multiparameter and monitoring equipment, video endoscope, dental machine, digital x-ray and in house blood machines. Currently the team is made up of 7/8 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses and a Support team.

Torphins lies 22 miles west of Aberdeen and at the edge of the Cairngorm National Park.  Royal Deeside offers excellent opportunities for walking, Biking, Climbing, Golf and Ski-ing for outdoor enthusiasts.  However, there are plenty castles and distilleries to explore nearby with cosy cafes and good quality restaurants for those a bit less adventurous.
