We are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to join a fantastic team at a busy and thriving practice in North London.

In this role you will assist with financial and operational performance of your practice as well as the overall team performance and engagement.

You’ll work closely with the Branch Partner as well as the rest of the team to ensure the general smooth running of your practice, from Practice Standards to Health & Safety, and ensure things such as debt is managed and controlled and any complaints are dealt with appropriately.

As a Head Nurse and Clinical Coach, you will develop and support your direct reports, holding one to ones and providing regular feedback on their performance.

From time to time you may need to assist your Area Manager with recruitment by meeting potential new team members during a practice visit, as well as taking action to create a positive environment that results in stable retention for your branch.

The Role

  • Head Veterinary Nurse – full time permanent position
  • 40-hour week, with early and late shifts including
  • Fair share of bank holiday cover with TOIL
  • Minimal on-call duties to support the dedicated night team, if required

Skills and Experience

  • We are looking for someone with leadership qualities, approachability, outstanding organisational skills and a passion for getting the best out of people
  • Ideally two years post-qualification experience, although previous work as an HVN is not essential. Clinical coaching experience or willingness to become a Clinical Coach is essential
  • A driving licence is essential, and the surgery has a van for regular transport of patients to the hospital
