Veterinary Nurse – Portishead

This is a full or part time role, we can be flexible to work with you! We want to ensure our colleagues get an excellent work/life balance and so we have no OOH, no on calls and only require weekend cover for holidays which works out as 1 in 6 or 1 in 8.

You will have a good experience of veterinary nursing, excellent customer service and communication skills, be an effective team player and able to use your own initiative when required. The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care. No two days are the same at our practice so you should enjoy the variety the role will bring. You will not necessarily need to have experience with the broad range of cases seen in the practice but would need to be a fast learner who is keen to get involved in all parts of the job. We support any team members who are interested in developing their skills.

You’ll be supported by a strong team of 3 vets, 2 nurses, 5 receptionists, practice manager and a deputy practice manager. The well-equipped surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and you’ll get use of our x-ray, dental x-ray, multi-parameter, capnograph, v-gels, ultrasound, latest blood machines and DNA testing. They see a good variety of cases with a split of 40% dogs, 35% cats, 25% exotics, and a large amount of their loyal client base are insured.

They are based in Portishead, just minutes away from Junction 19 on the M5, and Bristol and its airport within easy commute. If you like to spend your free time outdoors, Portishead is a pretty, coastal town, with plenty of walks and its own beach with nearby lighthouse!
