Our client is seeking a permanent RVN for their practice in Barnsley.

  • Small animal practice
  • Full and part time options available
  • Full time: 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
  • Part time: open to discussions about part time working and flexible or fixed shift patterns
  • Opening Hours: 7:30am – 8pm (rota-ed one month in advance)
  • Weekend and overnight working opportunities as required – paid extra or TOIL
  • Excellent salary package offered, DOE

The Practice

While this practice has several branches, it is a true independent and is family-owned and run.

Role Accountabilities

All nurses cover the different areas of nursing, changing daily.  This allows to experience and interest across different areas of the business.  The practice is flexible with regards to this and will always strive to accommodate special interests where possible.

There will likely be branch work required across the practices, so having a driving license.

There will most likely be branch work involved also, so having a driving license would be essential.

Branches are consulting only, so work here would involve see post op checks, weight clinics, discharges, nail clips etc.  This would be for a maximum of 3 hours per day, with the rest of the time based at the main site.

Nurses are never asked to cover reception.

You will be carrying out veterinary nursing duties and will assist veterinary surgeons with minor clinical procedures and administer treatments. You will build relationships with clients through your passion for delivering clinic healthcare excellence to ensure that your clients and their pets receive the very highest standard care.

Skills and Experience

  • Veterinary nursing degree, diploma or equivalent
  • Registered (or able to register) with the RCVS
  • Passion for delivering outstanding service and care for our patients and clients, with previous experience working in a small animal practice
  • Commitment to animal welfare
  • Excellent organisational skills & ability to keep on top of practice protocols and procedures
  • Flexible & adaptable in approach to work, happy to help and support wherever needed
  • Friendly & positive attitude towards working as part of a team
  • Drive to progress and expand skills/knowledge
