Our client is seeking a permanent VCA for their practice in Barnsley.

• Small animal practice
• Full and part time options available
• Full time: 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
• Part time: open to discussions about part time working and flexible or fixed shift patterns
• Opening Hours: 7:30am – 8pm (rota-ed one month in advance)
• Weekend and overnight working opportunities as required – paid extra or TOIL
• Excellent salary package offered, DOE
• CPD paid for; flexible and open to suggestions

The Practice

While this practice has several branches, it is a true independent and is family-owned and run.

Role Accountabilities

As a VCAs you will play an essential role in the day-to-day running of the practice, providing support in caring for pets, maintaining high clinical standards, and reporting back to senior members of the team.

From handling busy telephone lines and arranging appointments to taking payments, entering test results, and ensuring the consult rooms are fully stocked, you’ll enjoy a busy and varied front-of-house role. You will take ownership of ensuring the reception and waiting are presented to high standard.

The role provides the perfect introduction for those pursuing a career in veterinary nursing and is usually the first step to becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll learn the core principles of veterinary nursing and get to grips with life in a busy practice.
