We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to cover maternity leave. The day-to-day duties range from inpatient care, theatre to nurse consults. We encourage our Nurses to utilise their skills including in Schedule 3 procedures. The role will require you to work across both of their sites (Barnstaple and South Molton) although you will be mainly based at Barnstaple.

About the role:

  • £28,500 salary per year
  • 6 weeks annual leave with your birthday as a paid off
  • £550 CPD allowance with 22.5 hours paid pro rata
  • 37.5 hours per week, with shifts ranging from 8:00am- 6:15pm
  • 1 in 7 Saturdays on call on a rota basis. 10:00pm inpatient checks are also on a rota basis which is currently 3 checks in 7 weeks.

You would be joining a friendly, two site, mixed practice located in North Devon a short drive from Exmoor and the beautiful North Devon beaches. They have modern facilities and have a range of interests among staff from exotics to orthopaedics. Their Nurses are encouraged to pursue their interests and they have several nurses with certificates. The practice is equipped with an internal laboratory for diagnostics, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, dental radiography, therapeutic laser therapy (nurse led clinics) and multiparameter monitors in theatre.

Across the two sites they have full and part time staff. These include 14 Vets, 13 Nurses, 4 Student Nurses and 12 members of the admin team. You would be working alongside Vets with certificates in surgery and exotics, and Nurses with certificates in feline nursing, exotics, and anaesthesia. They also have a nurse completing a degree in physiotherapy and would encourage any individuals interests that align with the practice’s goals. They also work closely with local charities including a local branch of Cats Protection.
