Veterinary Nurse – Norwich

Salary up to £31,000 depending on experience

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to expand the team in the very exciting final stages of the hospital expansion.

The role will be mostly based at Taverham Veterinary Hospital, with one day at our branch practice on Longwater Lane. We believe this really does offer the best of both worlds. The candidate will be able to utilise their clinical skills within the different areas of the hospital and enjoy getting to form strong bonds with clients and their pets in a branch practice environment.

The position will require a motivated, compassionate and driven Nurse to assist with anaesthesia, surgery and diagnostic processes. Duties will also include nurse consultations, laboratory work and inpatient care.

About the role:

• Salary up to £31,000 depending on experience
• Full-time role working 38.5 hours per week over 4 days
• No OOH
• 6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays with your birthday as a paid off

This hospital status practice is home to a brand new CT scanner, dental suite, new and improved canine kennels, ISFM gold standard cat kennels, dedicated isolation facilities and four operating theatres. Within the hospital the team regularly perform ultrasonography, cardiology and orthopaedic surgeries.

Candidates will also work one day at week at our branch practice on Longwater Lane. Longwater Lane is a one-vet branch surgery offering personal and high-quality services including surgical procedures and an in-house laboratory. The practice is also home to a luxury veterinary-led cattery and an excellent hydrotherapy and physiotherapy service.

The practices are based in the peaceful towns of Taverham and Costessey, just 15 minutes from the historic city of Norwich and less than an hour from some of the best beaches the UK has to offer!

They currently we have 34 Veterinary Surgeons, 41 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Student Veterinary Nurses, 9 Animal Nursing Assistants and 30+ Support staff. Many of their Vets and Nurses are certificate holders in multiple disciplines. As part of their commitment to giving back, they support several charities and are proud to run the Norwich division of StreetVet from Taverham Veterinary Hospital, headed up by their super vet Claire! StreetVet is a charity that provides essential veterinary care to the animals of those experiencing homelessness, for which many of their team volunteer. the team regularly fundraise with quiz and chips nights, with the most recent event in January raising over £2,000! They also support Dogs Trust and regularly welcome their resident dogs to attend hydrotherapy sessions at the practice, and take great satisfaction in knowing that they are making a positive difference in the lives of these animals.
