We are looking for a driven veterinary nurse to join an expanding vet group in Durham, not only are they a genuinely lovey team, they also have a loyal client base.

About the role:

  • Salary up to £30,000 pro rata
  • Full time, 8am – 7pm, 4 days a week would be ideal but part time applicant would also be a great help
  • A share of the Saturday rota would also be good but not essential
  • No Sundays, OOH or bank holidays

This practice is equipped with new blood machines, ultrasound, digital xrays including dental xrays, and perform both simple and more advanced procedures such as orthopaedic surgery. They have exciting plans for a possible move with new CT machine later this year and will also be cat friendly and working towards achieving cat friendly status. They are also starting to grow their exotics patients as well.

The role is varied, including nurse consultations, theatre work and some schedule 3 procedures if desired.

We are looking preferably for an experienced RVN, however newly qualified will be considered if you share their values. We need a like minded individual who is motivated and has a strong work ethic. Must be happy to be a clinical coach either straight away or at some point in the future. They have many clients who have been with them for years so we need someone conscientious and keen to build a rapport with clients and develop their own role within the practice. They encourage all colleagues to grow the practice by focusing on what they are passionate about and passing on that passion to the rest of the team. Several of their RVNs are working towards certificates such as medicine, anaesthesia and surgical nursing.

Responsibilities:

  • Observe and monitor health of animals
  • Prepare equipment to treat animals
  • Perform procedures to diagnose animal disease and injuries
  • Prepare medicine and handle treatment for animals
  • Care for and clean up after animals
  • Communicate with clients about status of animals
  • Clinical coach to Student Veterinary Nurses.
