Our clients are looking for a dedicated and committed Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team to undertake all of the following duties; Nurse consultations to include; weight clinics, 6 month checks, nail trimming, nutrition chats and many more. Patient nursing including critical care patient nursing, scrub nurse duties, patient triage, blood sampling and catheter placement, anaesthetics of mainly small animals and occasionally exotics, radiography, lab and microscope work, reception duties, puppy socialisation classes and importantly maintaining health and safety standards and hygiene protocols.

Ideally you would be working up to 40 hours per week across an 8 week rolling rota. 1:4 weekends & a share of the OOH rota with plenty of time back after/before weekend and out of hours work. We can consider part time hours and flexible working as we understand the importance of balancing home life with your work life and would be happy to discuss how we can fix and flex our rota patterns to suit you.

Currently you would be joining a team of 9 Veterinary Surgeons, 13 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants and 10 support staff. Some members of the team are cert and dip holders and this is a very busy but fun team.

They take pride in their imaging suite which includes top of the range ultrasonography, radiography, a CT scanner which is often nurse led, an MRI scanner which again often nurse led and endoscopy. They have top of the range monitoring equipment to enable efficient anaesthetic monitoring- multiple multiparameter machines a well as ecg and 2 blood pressure machines. A range of dental equipment and dental Xray, ample drip pumps and syringe drivers for CRI infusions. Their lab hosts a huge range of blood machines and a huge range of slides for these machines so that a lot of their blood work can be done inhouse. They have a dedicated cat inpatient area to avoid stress as well as a dedicated isolation unit outside of the main building, their 2 theatres host a range of specialist equipment including microscopy for specialist eye surgeries and laparoscopic equipment for laparoscopic surgeries and spays. They have multiple autoclaves including EO allowing us to sterilise all out equipment inhouse.

Not to mention they have a nurse who is dedicated to events organising, she organises 3-4 team building events per year outside of practice such as dinners, bowling, activities etc. As well as 3-4 team building events inside of work being BBQ for lunch or an ice-cream van visiting the practice as well as a bun rota for buns every Friday! They see a huge importance in team building inside and outside of work and value it hugely.
