We are looking for multiple vets to join this RCVS accredited hospital in Bognor on
the South Coast and 2 branch clinics nearer the South Downs. Pre-Covid, our
main hospital was open 7 days a week and all 3 surgeries had longer opening

With only 3 vets, this will not be sustainable
or physically possible to achieve, so sadly we are having to look at temporary
options to relieve the pressure, which includes branch closures, sourcing out
our OOH and potentially closing on the weekends. These are decisions that will
not be taken lightly and will do all we can to avoid.

Ideally, candidates should be aware that our
long term aim is to continue providing our own OOH care and open on weekends,
though initially these may not be services we are providing.

We are preferably looking for full time vets,
though part time is certainly not off the table. We need vets competent in both
consultations and surgery. We work closely with a local wildlife hospital, so
we do treat quite a variety of wild animals.

If you do have anyone who would be interested
in finding out more, we would more than welcome an informal chat over the phone
or video call. We’d be happy to answer questions and discuss what we are
looking for in more detail.

Accommodation is also an option, which we
would be happy to discuss in more detail if required.

In the meantime, we need locum cover ASAP and
ongoing, rather than the odd block here and there. As previously mentioned, we
are still operating a semi-closed door policy and reduced opening hours and
with lack of vets, our pre-covid rotas are not running as usual.

Currently, the hours would be 8am to 6pm, 4 or
5 weekdays a week, plus weekend days and/or night duties by mutual arrangement.

We could also do with a locum RVN, it would be
a 40 hour week (5 days) on a shared rota across all 3 surgeries, including
nurse clinics. A variety of kennels, ops and late shifts (2pm - 11pm). The on
call is shared. At the moment it's about 1 a week. Weekends are equivalent to
one every 4 weeks, though at the moment it is split, so a Saturday shift and
then 2 weeks later, the Sunday.

We can provide accommodation. We have a 3
bedroom flat opposite our main hospital. So they'd get their own bedroom, but
the rest of the accommodation would be shared.
