We have an opportunity for a motivated Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, who enjoys leadership, to join our client’s team in Abergavenny.

We are looking for someone who is able to lead a nursing team of 11 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 2 ACAs across 4 sites, promoting excellent clinical standards and supporting professional development of our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, building good relationships across all sites, organising the nursing rota, support the training and development of the nursing team through regular meetings and PDRs, promote and develop nurse consultations, improve clinical nursing standards, perform stock ordering, control and co-ordinating regular stock takes.

This role will be predominantly based at our client’s site, however occasional travel to other branches will be required to perform full Head Nurse responsibilities.

Previous leadership experience is an advantage, but not essential as training and support will be given.

The Role

  • Full time permanent position
  • Leading the nursing team across 4 sites
  • 6 week rolling rota with a combination of 8-hour shifts between 0800-1900 with inclusion on the inpatient night rota (Monday-Friday) with a week off post nights. Frequency of inclusion on the night rota to be discussed
  • First opinion, small animal practice
